Dr. Spiegel has been in practice for over 20 years, and is certified by the American Board of Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgery. He opened the Texas Laparoscopy Center, TLC, in Southeast Texas and Houston in 2001. Dr. Spiegel has extensive experience performing weight reduction surgery with over 15,000 successful procedures. He is known for being one of the more experienced Gastric Banding surgeons in the world and for his skills performing Revisions and Reversals. Dr. Spiegel offers different variations of revisions and reversals to give his patient a second chance at permanent weight loss. He also continues to develop new, minimally invasive surgical techniques for all surgeries he performs.

Education & Training: After receiving an undergraduate degree with a double major from Columbia University in New York City, Dr. Felix Spiegel earned his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. He completed his residency training at Beth Israel Medical Center, with world-renowned surgeons, where he began to perform laparoscopic surgery. He was involved with the first laparoscopic cholecystectomy performed in New York in 1989 and was among the first surgeons to master this procedure.
