Dr. Julie Kilgore grew up in south Austin and has deep Texas roots. She truly enjoys helping her patients transform into healthier, happier, thinner, and more active versions of themselves with the tool of weight loss surgery. Dr. Kilgore has a strong focus on long-term success and mental molding to achieve change. She tailors to each specific patient's needs and helps each patient choose the operation that is right for them and their related medical conditions. These procedures include lap band, sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, and revisional bariatric surgery. Upon completion of her fellowship, Dr. Kilgore was recruited by Kennedy Bariatrics at Baylor Plano. She enjoyed this time as she operated, led support groups, and focused on helping patients in a compassionate way to make that ever so important transition to achieving weight loss. Dr. Kilgore has been honored to take part in medical missions to Nicaragua, Mexico, Thailand, and Ecuador. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, husband Geoff and their four children. She enjoys good music, art, dancing, working outside, drinking her family's Summermoon coffee, and travel.

Education & Training: Dr. Julie Kilgore is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Howard Payne University. Knowing she would be spending a lifetime in the sciences she took the opportunity to major in two of her loves: Art and Music, and was awarded scholarships in both. Dr. Kilgore attended medical school at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, completed her residency at The Texas A&M University at Scott & White, and completed her fellowship in Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery at The Cleveland Clinic in Florida, where she trained under the President-elect of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Dr. Raul Rosenthal.
