Michael J. Lee, M.D., F.A.C.S. has been the 2012-2015 Director of Bariatric Surgery and also Director of the Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship Program at UT Southwestern Medical Center, one of the largest and prestigious academic medical institutions. He specializes in advanced laparoscopy and other minimally invasive surgical techniques, including all forms of weight-loss/bariatric surgery and revisional surgery.

Education & Training: Dr. Lee attended the University of Texas at Austin for his undergraduate studies. He then earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and completed his residency in general surgery at UT Southwestern before becoming Fellowship trained in minimally invasive metabolic and bariatric surgery at the renown Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He has the highest qualifications necessary to perform complex minimally invasive bariatric surgery and is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.).
