Dr. Shakouri grew up locally and attended Southern Methodist University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2002 in biological sciences. He obtained his medical degree from highly-ranked UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas in 2006, and was also accepted into their Internal Medicine internship and residency programs, which he completed in 2009. Dr. Shakouri then practiced hospital-based medicine for 2 years at Las Colinas Medical Center, where he cared for patients in the medical wards and ICU. He further specialized in Allergy/Immunology after being selected into the fellowship program at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. While in fellowship, his clinical research focused on studying the relationship between food allergies and asthma in pediatric patients. Additionally, his interests include allergic skin disease, hives, angioedema, sinus disorders, respiratory disease, and immune disorders. Dr. Shakouri is double board-certified, including the combined pediatric and adult American Board of Allergy & Immunology. He enjoys spending his time off with his wife and their beautiful daughter. Dr. Shakouri believes clear communication is the key to a strong physician-patient relationship and is dedicated to providing high quality, personalized patient care.
