Overview
Dr. James Thornton is a plastic surgeon at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where he is a professor and directs the facial reconstruction program in the Department of Plastic Surgery. He earned his medical degree at UT Southwestern, trained in general surgery at Parkland Health and Hospital System, and completed plastic and reconstructive surgery training at Emory University. Dr. Thornton is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and focuses on rebuilding the face and nose after skin cancer removal, along with breast, head and neck, limb and abdominal wall reconstruction. He sees patients in the Plastic Surgery Clinic on Inwood Road and is the author of a textbook on facial reconstruction after Mohs surgery.
