Overview
Dr. John Pilcher is a bariatric surgeon with Sage Bariatric Institute in San Antonio, where he performs gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy and complex revision operations and has been an early adopter of robotic bariatric techniques. He completed his surgical training at the University of Virginia and first came to San Antonio in 1995 for Air Force service, and he has focused on weight loss surgery ever since, with more than 5,000 bariatric operations to date. Dr. Pilcher is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, a founding member of the Texas Association for Bariatric Surgery and a surgeon instructor for Intuitive’s robotic system.
