Overview
Dr. Mahmood Akhavi is a neurologist who sees patients at the Garland office of Lone Star Neurology, the group that now manages his practice. He earned his medical degree at Tehran University, then completed an internal medicine internship at Roger Williams Medical Center and neurology residencies at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Baylor College of Medicine. He added a fellowship in electroencephalography at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and is board certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Akhavi focuses on headaches, neurodegenerative disorders and general neurological conditions, and he sees patients in English and Farsi.
