Overview
Dr. Jose Matus is a board-certified neurologist with the Texas Institute for Neurological Disorders, seeing patients in Sherman and Denison, where he has practiced since 2003. He earned his medical degree at the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala, completed internal medicine internships in Guatemala City and Fresno, California, and trained in neurology at Loma Linda University Medical Center before an epilepsy mini-fellowship in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Dr. Matus is interested in acute care neurology and also performs EMG/nerve conduction studies, EEG and carotid ultrasound, with a particular interest in vestibular problems. He has directed inpatient rehabilitation units in the Texoma area and is affiliated with Texoma Medical Center and Wilson N. Jones Regional Medical Center, among other hospitals.
