Overview
Dr. Karen Bontia is a neurologist with North Texas Institute of Neurology and Headache, which sees patients in Frisco and Plano. She has a particular interest in headache and migraine, nerve and muscle disorders such as peripheral neuropathy and myasthenia gravis, and memory problems including Alzheimer’s dementia, while also treating general neurological conditions. Dr. Bontia earned her medical degree at the University of the Philippines and completed her neurology residency at North Shore University Hospital - Long Island Jewish in New York, where she served as chief resident in her final year.
