Weight Loss Surgery is Not Cheating
This one is for any of you who have ever been told that bariatric surgery is the easy way out. As a bariatric surgeon, I see the hard work patients put in to get the results they want—it’s definitely not easy.
Bariatric surgery can improve your quality of life, but it is not a solution by itself. It’s a tool that works in conjunction with healthy lifestyle changes. After surgery, patients have to put in the work by eating healthy, exercising consistently, taking specific vitamins, and going to check ups with their doctor… for life.
Does that sound easy to you?
Bottom line Calling this lifelong commitment “cheating” is not accurate and it diminishes the effort people put into turning their lives around (which is really rude, honestly).
