Burgers, anyone? This cheeseburger bake has 48g protein per cup and is safe for the soft food stage after bariatric surgery.
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
2 cups cheddar cheese
1 onion, chopped
8 oz Greek yogurt
1/4 cup mustard
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tbsp each of garlic, onion, and chili powderFirst, preheat the oven to 400º.
In a saute pan on medium heat, add finely chopped onions, ground beef, and dry spices. Cook until browned.
Remove from heat and transfer to a large bowl. Mix with ketchup, mustard, greek yogurt, and half the cheese.
Transfer to a baking dish, top with the remaining cheese, and bake for 10 minutes.
In the meantime, finely chop your favorite burger toppings. (Sorry! No lettuce in the soft food phase.)
Remove from the oven and enjoy it warm!
