From the video’s description on YouTube
Are you drinking enough water? Water intake is just as important to your weight loss journey as the food choices you make, especially immediately after bariatric surgery.
Water helps with temperature regulation, food digestion, nutrient absorption, waste elimination, kidney function, joint health, wound healing, hormonal regulation and weight loss – among many other things.
After surgery, the chemical changes that occur signal satiety for both food and water. Even if your body needs water, you may not feel thirsty. Drink it anyway! Dehydration can lead to headaches, fatigue, skin disorders, nausea, and even blood vessel or organ damage.
Signs of dehydration include: dark urine, dry mouth or chapped lips, dizziness, low blood pressure, headaches, or worsening nausea.
Tips to Stay Hydrated
Keep fluids on hand at all times
Aim for around 64oz of fluids a day
Plan to drink defined amounts of fluid by certain times of the day
Set alarms as reminders to drink
Mix it up! Anything sugar free, caffeine free, and non-carbonated counts
